How is Payment Handled?
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard. If your appointment time is during standard office hours (10 a.m. through 5 p.m.), an administrative staff member will receive and process your payment. If you have arranged for a later appointment, you will pay me directly at the close of our session.
Do You Accept Insurance?
I do not accept insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits for mental health-related concerns, you may be eligible for reimbursement for some portion of your therapy fees. If you choose to pursue reimbursement, I will be happy to provide a coded insurance receipt to you on a monthly basis.
Deciding whether or not to involve your insurance company is a complex issue. Many of my clients choose not to do so for a variety of reasons, such as:
• Insurance companies require that a mental health diagnosis be given to you in order for them to reimburse for sessions. This will become a part of your insurance record and accessed by others under certain circumstances.
• Some occupations may request that you allow potential employers access to your insurance records during their screening process. This is not uncommon for jobs requiring security clearance. A mental health diagnosis may affect your eligibility even if your therapy has been successfully concluded.
